Sches
Sches is a simultaneous-reveal strategy game played on the surface of a torus - a board that wraps in every direction. There are no edges to hide behind, no corners to turtle in, no back rank to retreat to. Every position can be flanked from everywhere at once. The only cover is the one you make.
It starts where chess leaves off and goes somewhere chess can't follow.
A board with no ends
Because the board is a torus, space itself is the first thing you have to unlearn. Lines of attack loop back on themselves. A piece slipping "off the top" arrives at the bottom, already behind you. Master the wrap and the board becomes a weapon; ignore it and it becomes a trap.
Your pieces' shapes are the rules
There's nothing to memorize from a rulebook. Each piece's shape encodes exactly how it moves and strikes - the geometry is the law. Learn to read a piece and you already know what it can do to you.
Commit blind. Reveal together.
Nobody waits their turn. Both (all) sides lock in their moves in secret, then everything resolves at once. Suns and Moons fire pre-committed blind weapons - you aim into the fog and hope your read was right. Every round is a bluff, a guess, and a gamble revealed in the same breath.
Duels
When two pieces of the same type collide, brute force won't settle it - the clash drops into a skill mini-game. Ties are broken by nerve and reflex, not just position.
Anomaly
Win the contest and you earn The Anomaly - a once-per-player wild card that can extinguish everything on the board, or resurrect it. Everything, that is, except the Suns and the Moons. It's the button you're terrified your opponent is about to press.
Play it your way
